People who are familiar with Calpe do not think of the town without thinking of the striking Penon de Ifach rock. This is a massive piece of limestone rising far out of the sea and connected to the mainland. Its distinctive shape and natural size really make this the symbol of the city. It is part of the Parque Natural del Peñón de Ifach natural park.
