Frequently Asked Questions - Property in Spain

For new construction:
After the transfer at the notary, the sales organization or promoter will ensure that you complete and sign the necessary paperwork. The promoter arranges the further process. You must have a Spanish bank account (which was of course necessary to purchase the property anyway) as the costs will be debited automatically.

For existing buildings:
After the transfer, your lawyer will ensure that you are registered with the authorities as the new owner. Even for existing buildings, the costs are automatically debited from your Spanish bank account.
